I now also teach viola! Come learn about the deeper, richer tone the viola can make!

A poet is a man who puts up a ladder to a star and climbs it while playing a violin.—Edmond de Goncourt
Please come with your violin and a shoulder rest right off the bat. We'll do a lot of adjusting your first lesson, and we want to make sure things are comfortable for you. A good shoulder rest is essential to this. I like the Kun brand, but anything that works for you is fine. Usually something that's adjustable is nice.
Over the next few weeks, I'll ask you to get a couple books. We start out with "Suzuki Violin School" Book 1, and "Master Theory" book 1. You should be able to find them at any music store for $5-$10. If you're a more advanced student, you'll start with materials appropriate for your level.
Later on, we'll use some other useful tools. Most important is a metronome, and most metronomes come with some kind of tuner. However, there's also a free online metronome.
