A poet is a man who puts up a ladder to a star and climbs it while playing a violin.—Edmond de Goncourt
Consistent playing will make playing easier, more effortless, and much more fun. Many students struggle when they return to school if they haven’t been playing their instrument during the summer, but lessons can prevent that.
Private lessons also allow me, the teacher, to focus on YOUR posture, intonation, tone, bow hand, style, and YOUR playing! Playing in an orchestra teaches you how to play in a group, but taking private lessons gives you the one-on-one attention your playing deserves.
I teach using the Suzuki Method, a series of books that take students naturally through a progression, teaching them new skills as appropriate. I also supplement with several other method books, and enjoy helping students with their school music.
Are you tired of driving all over for various activities? I’ll drive to you, to give your son or daughter (or you!) lessons in your own home, in an environment they are familiar with. Lessons are also available at the Manitou Community Center.
Now accepting new students for private violin lessons. Beginner to advanced, all ages.
My goal is to help each student get as much out of their music as they want to. This may be as simple as getting the many benefits that music provides us, or as complex as obtaining a full-ride music scholarship to college. I want to provide you with solutions to your needs, and if I don't feel qualified to, I'll find someone that can help you.
Many of my students are young children just starting out on the violin. To help them maximize their potential, I have created an orchestra of just my students. We're starting with Christmas music for our holiday performances, but from there - the sky's the limit!
Both orchestra and group classes help to build community within the studio, and I look forward to seeing this develop. Have an idea for something additional I can offer our community? Let me know! I'm here to help you, the student, succeed with your violin.
My studio currently consists of about 25-30 students, of all ages, backgrounds, and a variety of abilities. Since beginning teaching over a year ago, I have helped more than 40 students begin to reach their potential, and I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your music.
